so louis is supposed to be announcing this tonight then? hope what ever song they come up with for them is a good one, and even if they dont get picked for ireland- we have an original song, which is always good!
someone whose a massive blink fan in college today said he actually wouldnt mind them if they had original songs and didnt keep covering stuff.

Assuming they got through the national selection process, there would then be the semi-finals which would be hard as they could be in the semi-final where the UK can't vote ( in semi-finals only the countries participating can vote plus 2 of the big 4 -UK France Germany Spain) Which semi-final the Big 4 can vote in is decided by draw.
Regarding ESC forums being against them, I don't really think this matters, most people who vote in eurovision are not diehard fans, it's a bit like those of us who post in X Factor forums are not really representative of most of the viewers.

The promo tour is the biggest positive of this. The boys will win them over because thats what they do. People who meet them, love them. They are fun to watch too so people are surely to fall in love with them.
Not ALL Eurovision acts are bloody tenors and stuff. I bet even some other countries bring out some daft stuff to Germany on their behalf.
We should hear the song first.

Mmmh on one side I'm, like, yeeees on the other side noooo. The UK always has weird and not so good people/acts on Eurovision (and EV had some weird acts in the past). I lot of people know them (and I think many people would vote for them bacause evision is all about catchy songs). The song choice is very important. It can't be too ridiculous, but still has to be fun, not to childish or too pop. As long as it is something like Ice Ice baby they should me fine (and not be the last like some other times *hint hint*)

Already it's reeping benefits. It has the fandom talking again and it feels like it day in the early days. I'm loving it.
I just want the boys to say something about it. I wish Louis would just decide to let us know one way or another. Doing it or not?
Xpose saying he was giving an ANNOUNCEMENT is quite decieving saying that he said it MIGHT be happening. That isn't an announcement at all is it?

maybe louis walsh say "they might do it" depends on the twins schedule next year? assuming they have the 2nd album plus shows, etc - its going to be more tedious than this year.
btw imo, if there is one thing i want twinnies to change is their dress sense for eurovision "only" . the quiff can stay cuz its make them unique , but outfit wise i prefered them to wear clothes of their age. I love them in suits but their appeal for youngsters & their oozing gorgeousness is stronger with clothes like the one they wear in photoshoots.

If they get chosen, EV sure is a great gateway for European exposure for them

The way I tool it from what Louis said is they're doing National Selection, therefore they might be doing Eurovision. Louis isn't stupid enough to count his chickens before they hatch. We won't hear anything solid now until middle to End of January now I wouldn't think, right before Feb 11th, so it's just a waiting game. First National Final is tonight so the songs entering will slowly start seeping through now. I'm pretty sure we have no way of voting for them in the semi. The big 4/5 are split to minimise dispora voting, meaning were usually barred from the semi Ireland get put in Well only be able to help them out if they get to the final which sucks.

It's not just down to fans, there'll be regional juries, if they don't want them in they won't progress, even with the hype machine that will crank into gear.

as i'm aware the public vote is worth more than the jury vote? Could be wrong. We get to vote in the SF that Ireland are in sometimes. It's a draw -- completely fair according to the organisers

By regional she means national.... The Late Late Show IS the Irish National selection. On another note. A three sister group, the Vard Sisters are rumoured to be competing too. They tried in 1998 but came runner up. They sing in Gaelic so are a bit more traditional than the Jeds but they might be singing in English this year. They're being mentored by Liam Lawton who they also worked with in 1998. Lawton is a composer and songwriter so no doubt there song will be written by him. www.esctoday.com/news/read/16330
