Definitely so proud of them! They couldnt have been any better if they tried! Its nice that they won the commentators' best song award, but I can't help being disappointed in the results. Top 10 is great, but they were the best, most entertaining act in the final! Political voting strikes again! I hope the boys are ok?
Also, what do you think the future holds for the twins? They certainly proved they can sing by the way!

I was disappointed by Blue's performance. they desserved even a lower place. but Jedward did a great job. I think they should have been 5th or 6th, but being in top ten is a great success. I think they're gonna have lots of European tours and i wish good luck for them the biggest surprise was Italy and 2nd place!!! Italy was aweful I think. I thought sweden, slovenia, Ukrine, and Georgia were the best ones. Azerbaijan is a close neighbour of hours. I'm happy that they won, the next year we might be able to go there and watch eurovision Live.

I'm sure the boys will be very, very happy. I'm a little disappointed in the results too and that they didn't get a few more points but at the same time 8th is fantastic and they did better than Blue which is a bonus Blue were terrible! You're right, they shouldn't have got 11th place. I'm happy that we did so well but to be fair we probably shouldn't have. There were some dreadful songs that did really well and some really great songs that did very bad, it's a shame but it happens and unfortunately I think political voting will always be a part of it.

There were about 15 of us who saw them arrive back at their hotel after the final and they were far from dejected, infact, they couldn't have been happier with their result; they knew they'd achieved what they set out to do, open a door to a wider european ( and further afield) audience. They were so elated, and said they had so much fun they'd love to do it again. I count myself very lucky being able to go and share the experience of the ESC; there was such a fantastic vibe in the city and amongst all the nationalties; it was non stop laughter and fun. I had, along with the others, a wonderful time, something I will never forget.

Edward told us that everyone was more interested in hearing from them rather than the winners. I'll never forget how proud John Sr was - it was literally the cutest thing I ever saw.

Just been reading the comments from when this thread was first set up in Feb last year...
People were really against them doing ESC and these comments made me lol slightly --
"Nail in the Coffin" Nope!! Career is still going strong.
"A step backward" A step forward it turned out to be because now they have a Swedish, German and Austrian #1 single and European success.
"Murder in the Press" The press LOVED them and the commentators gave them an award.
It just shows that those boys are damn good at proving even the fans wrong. Not me however... as the starter of this thread I always knew they'd hit it off with Europe and Eighth place for a country that hasn't made the Top 10 in five plus years is goddamn good
EDIT: I take that back -- it actually shows how bad the Eurovision's reputation has got in recent years if people thought it would be a bad thing rather a good thing for the boys to take part in
