I always forget how long they have to spend in Germany for rehearsals. Their first rehearsal on the stage is 4th May, right at the end of the day, then they have a 40 minute press conference (lol, I can't imagine them concentrating that long). Then second rehearsal is 8th May, just after lunchtime, and another 30 minute press conference. Then all day on 11th and 12th. I'm excited for them, all the rehearsals and press conferences are when the favourites for winning start to seriously take shape, and it's when people start to get a proper picture of them, and what their performance is gonna look like. I just really hope John's voice holds out this long after tour as well I still have mixed feelings on their prospects, so I really want to see their rehearsals to see how it's gonna shape up. If they turn up on the 4th and their routine still involves dicking around with mic stands, I won't be impressed.

that eurosong routine was not really impressive and they should relax like when they performed in OKTv - gosh i hope one of the backing singers who was so hyper would be tone down. and they should really not sing together except in the chorus but the rest they should sins as the radio edit.
Please Backing singers stay at the back they are ruining the Jedward chemistry

The Jeds are on the main page on the BBC's Eurovision Website with the most Marvelous of pictures which I LOVE TO DEATH... www.bbc.co.uk/eurovisionClicking on it takes you to an A-Z list of all the countries. The profile they've done on the the guys is lovely too when it said Lipstick has gone to #1 in ireland this is during Midweek ?

this thread has gone really quiet -- anyways the boys popularity are behind while Sweden, UK . etc are out there doing loads of interviews and appearance and they have a professional video for their entry . though still not liking Blue I feel like they are trying very hard . Eric Saade video is 50/50 ok - some parts are so dark but still the video make a good attraction to watch
i hope the twinnies will really do load of promotion and unless they do this very spectacular performance in the final (if they get in the final) im not being negative but this lack of promotion is making me lose hope

their interview to radio international was great. i love the fact that edward speak clearly and concise. at one point he even asked if he is speaking too fast or slow so they are considering this aspect which is very impt. the dj were lol to them. i think they just need to give a thought to this "what is your message to europen fans and why they should vote for your song " Answer: We are young , 19, etc" lol its not a beauty pageant planetjedward anyways radio international did extend that show for them so it was really nice i love the twins

any thoughts on news that UK won't be able to vote for Ireland in Eurovision?

We've known this for months -- i don't know HOW people weren't aware of this before the Sun reported it. I hate people using the word BANNED!!!! It was pure bad luck we didn't draw to vote in SF2. We found out we were voting SF1 before Ireland even drew SF2 lol.
SF2 is going to be easier to qualify from anyways - all the faves are in the first SF. We're not competing with the heavyweights like Hungary, Turkey, Azerbaijan etc.

I actually think Semi 2 is shaping up to be just as tough as Semi 1 now, if not tougher because it's so wide open in that one...
Semi 2 songs are doing better with the bookies atm in terms of winning the whole thing, and countries like Estonia, Bosnia, Sweden & Denmark all have good odds to win. Despite people not liking the song, I can't see Israel not making it either. Slovenia, Austria and Romania are all popular too and Slovakia has done a huge European promo tour, which always goes down well with the hardcore fans at least.
It's really hard to call their semi. It depends who you talk to but the general consensus with them seems to be it could go either way, depending on the performance, but people generally think they'll scrape it.... it's REALLY hard to call. If they do the LLS performance (which seems possible seeing as they're not even starting rehearsals until Thursday D: ) I'm not sure what way it'll go for them.
It's so nervewracking!

Where usually there's a clear winner in the lead up to Eurovision this year thre isn't. Politically speaking SF2 will be easy (if my geography is correct - was always rubbish at it)..
Ukraine don't have Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan to help them out -- only Belarus (if i'm right in thinking all these are former USSR countries)
Sweden, Denmark and Holland might vote for each other I suppose. Maybe Latvia and Estonia.

Wow, can't believe no one has posted here today!
The press conference, interviews, and rehearsals are out in full force guys! Check them out!
My thoughts: The boys are absolutely infectious in all the interviews and their enthusism and excitement is really catching! The Russian interview with a translator was so funny, cos they actually had to stop and slow down the talking...their faces made me laugh.
Also, all of the interviewers seem to really like the twins a lot, probably cos they're not used to the whole "hyperactive identical twins" factor lol
As for the rehearsals, I was pleasantly surprised too. The twins' voices are much clearer than in Eurosong...the backing singers don't overtake them and the presentation is outstanding. The backvideo thing is really creative and imaginative and the boys get to show everyone their flat hair lol.
The beginning is clever, as Edward is lying down in the smoke and then John pulls him up. For people unaware of Jedward, they'll be shocked when John's carbon copy joins him! The dancing is better too and they end with front flips (Edward's was one handed).
Obviously, its not perfect yet, but I really think they can make the final at least, as their energy and performance is really entertaining and they know how to stand out.
Also, did you know they're at the top of Google forecasters, which have correctly predicted the winners for the past two years?

The only part of their routine I didn't like too much was when they raised their arms up to shoulder height and held the mikes near their mouths (about 3/4 way through song) I thought that move obscured their faces ( by the angle it was filmed from) and it went on for too long. If that's how the tv camera people are going to film it, I feel they need to do some other movement at that point. Agree, they are winning over all the reporters etc, loved their impromptu singing of "Lipstick" at their first press interview, really showed they could sing; to the non believers lol Whirlwind Jedward ..... Europe don't know what's hit them
