With all the good writers out there surely someone can come up with a few decent songs.. we don't want a botched job (album)!!

I can understand people not wanting the MC Hammer cover on the album (I agree with them, although I'll wait till I hear what it sounds like first), but I really cannot understand the Ghostbusters hate.
It's fun.

I hope a few means two! I am glad they are covering GHOSTBUSTERS! Perhaps they should release it as their second single? God NO!, the boys will be laughing stocks if this happened and it will definitely not be played on any radio stations!

Then he was joking - Jump by House of Pain was reccomended as a joke in a newspaper. He would have seen this, PLEASE don't let this be true. This song is played on Kerrang ffs so is immediately not a song the boys should be singing

A big no to Ghostbusters as a single. As a b-side? Sure. An album filler? M-kay. A single? Hell to the no. Agreed The boys are going to have a huge uphill fight and having them sing 90's songs that are all gimmicky is not helping at all. They are capable of singing a normal pop song that can be played on the radio. While the MC Hammer would be funny as hell it won't help them one bit

As far as Jump Around is concerned, isn't that a big favourite of Irish-Americans?
Just think, after having the album out in the 'UK' and doing the tour later this year, in 2011 it's time to hit America. What better way to do it than to have two Irish twins releasing a song beloved of Irish-Americans around about St Patricks Day, guaranteeing airplay/screen time. Management are VERY clever if this is their plan.

It's fun. I don't 'hate' it-I just think better songs could be used on their album which will draw many critics! Ghostbusters is fun I guess...but to me its a song thats aimed at 5 years olds! (sorry ) and just won't give them credibility. If they want a fun X Factor song on there they should go for 'Oops I did it again' or 'She Bangs'! Lots of people voted for them on those weeks, but less so on Ghostbusters weeks-cos its just gimmicky and blaah I dunno. They need a couple of really fun songs on there-I just don't think it should be Ghostbusters ook! haha. I'll buy it whatever songs are on there though!

Although I was thinking more along the lines of Ok go! and MGMT. Perhaps moving a bit away from the cheesy pop route is a good idea?

I was only JOKING when I said thay should release Ghostbusters as a single. To do that would be the kiss of death on their music career. God that never needs to happen. Just think back to all the snide comments from the radio stations with IIB, can you just imagine what they would say with ghostbusters.. it does't bear thinking about!!

I don't hate ghostbusters. I'd love them to do it for the soundtrack to GB3...but the problem for me is the boys don't do irony. Hence the talking about Vanilla Ice as if he were a groundbreaking rap artist when IIB was a completely ironic joke from the moment it was released! The thought of the interviews they might do if they cover MC Hammer makes me cringe! Ghostbusters would sink them if it was released as a straight single and not as part of the movie franchise. Without the movie it's just another xfactor related gimmick. I think they can show how original and fun they are without resorting to any hackneyed cliche gimmicks
