People are still getting venues saying the gigs are on... this isn't surprising. They probably think they still are!
These places have booked the guys in good faith, and have advertised them to play. It is NOT in their interest to falsely advertise, or to have the hideous nightmare that will prob hit them anytime this week when J&Es team pull the boys out (as they have confirmed to JedGenius). I'm sure the organisers genuinely believed they had the guys booked in. It will be a nightmare for them having the main act pull out.
Things crop up in this business all the time that means things change. They may have had to shift album stuff, they may have been able to slot another tour in, they may have an opportunity at he other side of the world they just could not turn down for the sake of half a dozen crappy XFactor shows. We won't know for some time probably.
It sucks, especially for those of us that have bought tickets, but hey, that's life.
Until J&E's management / booking agent 100% confirm to the organiser they can no longer play, then the venue will continue to advertise, and the ticket people continue to sell.
If J&E's people do tell the organiser they aint playing any organiser with a brain will immediately announce it officially.
I would imagine when it all kicks off tomorrow with fans contacting all these venues, things will move fast with someone having to give these venues a definitive answer and things getting officially cancelled.
Then the fun starts. Because lots of different people will be involved in the ticket situation, depending on their terms and conditions and who you got them off etc. It may be some will offer refunds, others won't. The Clacton ones for example state they have the right to change the acts.
I will be making sure I get screen grabs of all the sites advertising the tickets tonight with J&E as playing and then email all the venues tomorrow stating that I have bought tickets because they are advertising J&E. If they subsequently cancel I'll be expecting to hear how I can get a refund please, as I do not want to see anyone else.
If any refuse I'm more than happy to go to trading standards to see if we do have any rights seeing as we raised it with them whilst they were still being advertised and can evidence that we bought the tickets for J&E only etc. We may get refunds, we may not. We'll have to wait and see. I added it up, if all these are cancelled and I don't get refunds, I'm £195 out of pocket. That's not funny.
If anyone else gets anywhere with any venues / refunds etc once all of it becomes official could you all post here any details, contacts etc so that we all aint reinventing the wheel?

I contacted ticketmaster about Blackpool about an hour ago- first he was quite disbelieving- like where did you get this info from, the stated until the venue confirm to them the act has cancelled or line up changed they will continue to sell. Also he said as the tix say "featuring" jedward it may be difficult to get refund as technically they arent the main act- im sure we would beg to differ! So, may be bit of wait for refund, might mean involving trading standards. Its not the boys fault and although im disappointed i wont get to see them, i'll still support and love them and wait for another uk opportunity to present itself- UK tour hopefully!

I'm sad to see the news about all these cancellations, especially in light of how much money, time and effort so many fans put into following the twins.
I don't think the twins themselves have any control at all over this situation. They barely seem to know from one day to the next what's on their schedule, and I think they just go where they're told and do what they're asked. The twins aren't yet in a position to make their own decision about pulling out of a show and I hope people won't take out their anger on them.
I do think it's damaging to the twins as a brand in the long run though. Some of the prices being charged for meet-and-greets are way beyond what families with kids can afford, surely? There's surely also a danger that fans who've lost money on tickets for cancelled gigs will eventually lose interest or just decide they can't afford it any more, which will hurt future ticket sales.
This is like the Coventry debacle all over again. You'd think management would have learnt something from that episode.

I'm sure John & Edward have no say in this, they just go wherever management tell them to go, but I'm really worried about how bad this could get for them, fans are already giving them abuse apparently. They have enough haters out there, they can't afford to turn some of their fans into haters too. We need to rally behind them, show them that we do not blame them.
I also worry that fans are not going to get their money back for most of these concerts. I have tickets for Blackpool, which as people have said actually have their names on the ticket. Surely they can't deny us a refund on these? If they do they will have a fight on their hands.
Also, thanks Jedward Genius for alerting us to this. Who knows how long it would have been otherwise before we found out, or how many more tickets would have been sold under false pretences.

I have tickets for Carlisle, Im sure you can get refunds on those ones but me loosing £15 is like nothing compared to people who were meant to be going to alot of these shows! I'm not mad at j+e, it's nothing to do with them, but yess I kind of am worried because to some people it's them that looks bad which is crappy :/

I'm surprised with the Blackpool show as I thought they were the main act so they would have to refund tickets unlike the racecourse shows which feature a number of guests.
You would think these venues would only advertise J&E once they have got full confirmation rather than just putting their names on the list in the hope of selling more tickets and then cancelling them at the last minute.
I know alot of people had booked hotels and flights for Blackpool so I feel sorry for them and hopen they can at least get some of their money back.

Well I'd booked flights and hotel for Blackpool - doesn't look like I'm going to get much back. I've phoned and e-mailed Blackpool Opera Theatre (event@leisure-parcs.co.uk) but I'm not holding my breath for a reply. I'm not very good at writing letters but I feel quite strongly about this - so please don't laugh... Good morning I am writing to enquire about some tickets I bought for the Summertime Special on Saturday 28th August 2010 at the Blackpool Opera Theatre. Now I bought these because I wanted to come and see John and Edward. Yesterday, however, I heard that their management company are saying they aren't going to be there. Now I'm concerned that I've not only booked these tickets but hotels and flights as well!! Please can you let me know whether they are actually going to be performing at the show, or not? I really DO NOT want to come all that way to see anyone else and will be very upset if I do travel only to find no Jedward on the night. I see that ticketmaster are still advertising that they are still appearing, I understand it's been in a local newspaper and it has 'featuring Jedward' actually on the tickets. If they are not performing then I really do think I'm entitled to a refund...surely this would come under 'false advertising' which is totally out of order! I'd be grateful if you could get back to me. Thank you Sue Grant I'll be keeping a record of every thing I send. Whether I'll get anywhere though, god only knows. ps And Lynn that's an excellent piece, totally agree with that all the way!

I've just got this replay from Blackpool Opera Theatre We are not aware of any cancellation of the artists for this event on 28th August. I am aware of discussions on social networking sites yesterday but have been told by the promoter that he has had no official announcement of a cancellation. If you could provide me with information of where you heard their management company announce, I will investigate further. I assure you that if we do find any artist is unable to appear at our venue I would allow tickets to be refunded. I hope that if you are updating any social network site that you can let others know that as far as we are concerned the event is still going ahead. We will update all of our customers who have purchased tickets if we receive any further information contrary to this. ---------------- What am I going to do now?

1) They have the right to change acts
2) FIVE people have been put in for replacement making it more worth your money
In all fairness I'd stil go if it was closer to me - Stavros Flatley and Olly Murs alone is worth my time but Clacton is TOO far
