Ok, review time from Silverstone.
I took my mum to her first John and Edward gig today for her 76th Birthday! We got freebie disabled carer ticket for her, and a chauffered car from the car park to the event, Silverstone were fantastic!
We pootled round looking at so much classic cars, the whole site was huge, needed golf buggies to get round to be honest. Fangirled over the Morgans, slagged off the Ferraris, got deafened by lots of very old exhausts.
Sue and Sally had won a meet and greet so we knew where the boys would be going when they arrived. I tried to stay with mum, we'd blagged some seats from the pasty stall right near the stage, but she was having none of it and sent me off to 'be with my friends' lol. Bumped into Danyl on the way as he was being zipped around on a golf buggy.
Basically me and Jane hung out with Sue and Sally and as it was all a bit laid back we gatecrashed the meet and greet.
The boys arrived in a gorgeous old classic Jaguar, loved it. Hair down and mickey mouse and donald duck t-shirts on that Michelle and Dawn had bought them. They then stuck baseball caps on backwards. They were faffing next to the car a bit so I thought sod this and went out and jumped on them. Got a cool 3 way hug. Then hugged Liam, he looked terrified, lol. Chatted to Edward about is leg and my mum. He got the giggles about her being there. Was explaining where she was sitting and what she looked like, like me but older and with grey hair. Off he went saying my hair was more purple than last time, lol. His leg is loads better, no need for crutches anymore, physio has said he shouldn't use them. Operation is scheduled for start of Sept now.
Boys did some photos with Ruth and Danyl and worked it for the cameras on the harley and in the Jag, then headed in to do some signing/ meet and greet stuff. We went round for a laugh. Didn't want owt signing but had another quick chat. Boys posed for the twitpic. Had lots of fun with Danyl, who showed us his underpants. I do love him lots.
Jade and Julie turned up as the boys finished signing. Charlotte and Alanna arrived not long after. Gig was great, thousands there, lots of families and loads of little kids up on shoulders. Hair was up by then, looking big. Ed's dancing was almost normal. Rock DJ first, then John started the na na na na na for atst but got it wrong cos it was Under Pressure next.
John did a bit down in the pit and the usual hand flip in atst, no splits tho. Edward did the it's a wrap stuff at the end of that. Then they did Everybody and I squealed, I do love it on the album. But the backing track cut off at the end! At least you can see they're singing live tho as they end up acapella at the end of it!

'Fight for your right' at Silverstone:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT-oIwn7ryYThere were a smattering of boos, but all acts got that from stupid drunk people, and some of it towards the boys was jokey and not nasty tbh. 5 songs in total. More than half the crowd left after they finished.
Sue and Sally and Jane went off leafletting, and I took mum round to the side of the stage. We waited for the boys to come out and I managed to introduce my mum to them. John grabbed her hand and the security had to pull him away, lol. So mum is now Team John.
Another great day out with lovely Jed friends and the boys.
