Arrrghhh Im getting too into making this video, the song is now doing my head in from listening to it so much! And I know that cos its my first video its gonna be crap, but Ill still end up spending ages on it...  |

I want to do one too but what the hell on? I'm not in the least bit imaginitive I'm using a piece of music by another well known double act (don't want to give too much away!) as a soundtrack, and I want to choose clips to fit with that. It gives me a sort of storyline. |

I know that feeling  I cut my Vanilla Ice 'Ice Ice Baby' up and spent so much time fitting and mixing the soundtrack to the video and visa versa. I spent ALL NIGHT doing it last week (Sunday i think it was). It drives you crazy but it's great when you see the finished thing on YouTube |

Ive given up on my first video idea, the song was too long and I couldnt cut it without it sounding silly! So Ive changed to a better song which means a lot to me, but chances are most people will never have heard the song, but the lyrics work well, heres a hint, tell me if you recognise it: "I cant believe I made it here, today Im afraid of yesterday." Im quite proud of it so far, but im only 16 seconds in! ;D

Ah, I wish this thread hadn't been started I'm so tempted to try and make one now, theres all this info here! I was too lazy to find out before! Oh well, I guess all my spare time is going to be spent trying to do this! :-(

Its the most addictive thing ever, time just gets eaten up so fast when your making one, luckily I have been sensible and made my first one with just 2 minutes of music (cut down the original) so as I dont spend my life on it! |

A slide show is pretty easy to make. It's when you come to adding clips and stuff that it becomes more time consuming, especially if you want to match bits in the video the the audio. I'll have a go at another on next week maybe  |

How would I go about cutting into a video, to get small clips to add to my video? Hi Joanna, I used Windows Movie Maker to make my video, so once I'd imported a video I wanted to use, I used the "split" button to the bottom right of the screen to cut up the clip and get the bit I wanted. If you're using a different programme I expect it'll be done a different way. The idea is to run the clip containing the part you want until the beginning of that part, then split the video as above. This gives you a first and second part, and you can discard the first part. Run the second part, then pause and clip at the end of the section you want. You can then drag and drop that section into your final video and trim it to the length you want. I was the techno-numpty who started this thread and I've managed OK thanks to other people's help here. |
