(Mods, feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place.) I fancy having a go at making a fan video, but have very little idea how to do it. I have Windows Movie Maker as part of the standard package on my computer, but how do I get hold of video clips? Can I download them somehow off Youtube? Sorry if I'm being very dumb - this is all still very new-fangled stuff to me.

Same here! I have so many strange and stupid ideas for videos!!
I somehow just came across this adorable video of Mary kate and Ashley when they were tiny:
And have decided that the lyrics 'I am the cute one' would fit magnificently into a parody video of the twins ;D
Oh and this:
Which has already been used in another jed video, but only a little clip, Id love a full one of Edward trying to sell his big brother ;D

That "I am the cute one" would suit J&E perfectly!
I've been messing around this morning trying to download some clips of the twins, but can't figure out how to get stuff into Windows Movie Maker. I've got RealPlayer and can download stuff into that, but after that I'm stuck.
Help! Anyone?

If you have realplayer then you can go onto youtube (via Internet Explorer or Firefox - Safari doesn't seem to allow it). Find the video you want then hover the mouse over it whilst it's playing and you'll get a tab saying download video E.g. (A funny pic of John to go with it lol) Click on the tab and the video will download - it'll save in My Videos. All you have to do is edit them but these files download as flash files which I don't think Movie Maker likes. Movie Maker likes hardly anything and it doesn't work for me - I HATE Movie Maker You might have to download a demo version of a better video editing software like Corel Video Studio or something like that which you'll get free for a month - enough time to get a video made.

Thanks Jade. I did suspect that having video editing software already on my computer was too good to be true. If anyone can recommend an affordable program I'd be grateful. I have my creative vision all ready and can't wait to get started!

Editing Software is quite expensive - the best ones are like 70-100 quid. If you go to download.com and search for video editing software - you'll find some free demo's. I use the Corel one - it's really good and easy to use.

Maybe I'll have a bash at it tomorrow.

Guys, there are lots of videos on YouTube telling you how to make movies in Movie Maker. I've only just started doing it, the one that John and Edward tweeted me about was only my 2nd one, adn the first one that I made using video clips! However, this free app is brilliant....you download a video from YouTube and cut it into clips: download.cnet.com/Free-FLV-Converter/3000-2194_4-10832044.html
