Is anyone else (ha, I'm guessing this will be a resounding YES) obsessed with knowing what they're doing and what they're up to? I check their twitter when I get home from college, look at photos of them, I can't go a day without my John and Edward fix, it's impossible! There's something so ... mysterious yet relatable about them. I'm really similar to them in that I'm off with the fairies a lot of the time and come out with weird thoughts, ha. ALSO, I really do think they're an inspiration to young people. I'm 17 and basically everyone a couple of years ago were going out, getting drunk and causing hassle. I sort of joined in because I thought I'd be really uncool otherwise and didn't really wanna get drunk at 15. I was getting quite low because I thought I was a loser cos I didn't go out 'getting pissed' and going to parties and stuff every weekend but they really have shown me there's more to life than that! And they haven't had girlfriends either cos they're so focused, which is like me because I've only had two boyfriends (not proper really) as I'm so focused on karate (I'm a second dan black belt!) and I'm just following my dreams, just like them. I know it sounds silly but they've opened my eyes to just HAVE FUN and do what you want without following anyone else. I can safely say I'm having much more fun in life now and just doing my own thing without thinking I'm a loser. And my weird personality shines through now and I don't care because it's what makes me special and everyone else too. I sound like a right idiot but it's true! Ahhh, they're just too perfect for words!!!

That's a lovely post. There is something very uplifting about the twins, and I think they're great role models for younger people. I'm baffled by this remark Christine Bleakley is supposed to have made about the boys giving Ireland a bad name, because they're energetic, enthusiastic and hard-working - what more could anyone want?

They're probably the greatest role models out there as far as teenagers are concerned. They promote healthy eating habits etc which you don't see many teen stars doing.. As for the Irish comment I dunno what she was on about. Like the Irish have an awful reputation for gettin drunk, especially the teenegers. J&E show that most of us aren't like that at all.. Who wouldn't want two clean cut, fun loving, brilliant teenagers representing your country?! ;D I think more teenagers should take advice from them..

They inspired me to go out and steal two twins so I can create my very own moneyspinning Jedward. I finally found a lovely pair in Waitrose, which was a relief as I know they come from a good middle-class family (I'd never steal twins from Asda, Aldi or even Tesco.) The only problem is they're girls, but you have to work with what you're given.
I'm enrolling them at Italia Conti when they're three, by which time I'll no longer be on the run with my little daughters, who I renamed Jane and Edwina.

oh yeah, I forgot they eat healthily too and exercise, another reason why they're good role models! And they have so much energy and enthusiasm too, it's infectious, I wanna have just as much fun as them in everything I do! I think everyone here should aim to do that, HAVE JUST AS MUCH FUN IN LIFE AS JOHN AND EDWARD! I think the world would be a much better (sillier ) place. There's too much misery everywhere, spread the love and happiness to everyone and lighten up! That's what I think anyway, ha : )

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ;D I hate the phrase LOL, but this actually did make me laugh out loud! Does anyone remember the triplets, Noise Next Door? They were out at the same time as Busted, similar style but they were (I think) identical triplets who were 'discovered' in a supermarket where they were working. In response to the OP, yes they are an inspiration. I've never gone with the crowd and have had the mickey taken out of me most of my life for what I like etc, but I think if more people were less self conscious about trying to fit in and be 'cool' then it'd be a happier world to live in. Having John and Edward on the scene, larking about, entertaining people and generally not showing they are bothered by the haters, is inspirational and hopefully more young people will have the confidence to be who they really are, not who they think everyone else thinks they should be.

They are role models to me and I am 19 and of every other age. They have fans ranging fro 7-50. I was 17 when I first drank and was more pressured into it and never really drank and I have stopped since christmas day and will never drink again.
They are a credit to themselves the way they have handled the bad press!!

This is such a feel good thread I think teenagers in general are getting a bad rap which isn't totally deserved and I think there are a lot more teenagers out there who maybe relate a lot to what they see in the boys. The drunken, having-sex-in-early teens stereotype is so powerful lately it's like there are no other kinds of teens around! They're the group all the talking heads like to point to. Though it's a distant decade ago now I remember when I was a teen such people were obviously around but they were in a minority. The difference to me seems that the boys are totally unafraid to show that they are not seen as 'normal' or 'typical' in someone else's definition of it and they are okay with that. There's hardly anything cooler than that ;D ...except maybe treating everyone you meet with the respect you'd like to get yourself, and they do that too That awful Christine woman could learn a lot from them...

They also inspire me to listen to cheesy pop music such as Backstreet Boys and N*Sync.

they definitely inspire me to be more confident and try to live life by taking it less seriously..even when things get heavy i don't think it's necessarily always positive to be so serious. they seem like really lovely guys, i just wished 18 year old boys like them actually existed in 'the real world'!
