The Juries will also take into consideration how well the act would do abroad... I'm sure they realise they're onto a winner with the Jeds.
They tried to joke with Dustin the Turkey and failed - missing out on the finals. Then they tried to go rock with this Siobhan girl in 2009 - they also failed to make the finals. Then last year they went ballady serious again with this boring Niamh chick and even though it made the finals it did very poorly.
Jedward are fun without being a complete joke. It's the song they need to get right at the end of the day

Christenerife has changed his display picture to a "NO to Eurovision" thing. I want a "PRO" one -- a little help Rok? I'll make a twibbon if the rumours get stronger.

apparently there are 3 song writers working on it but not clear if 3 songs separately. i think its time for JED to be taken seriously because they are not doing this for a joke its their dream and anyone who come and see them on their show knows they are good at it. who knows they might undergo for a voice lesson as well

As long as they commit to it and take it seriously. They have to do something modern and poppy. Nothing Pete Waterman like, and nothing novelty. It has to be proper twenty first century europop.
They need to be picked by one of the mentors first as well, and I don't know which one would pick them. The Director of MCD seems the best bet, but they're not one of their acts which could put a spanner in the works.
It'll be a huge uphill struggle. First they have to get picked, then they have to qualify just to get to the final. But tbh even if they just get to go to Germany would be good for them. Getting to do the european tour and the press conferences etc etc. They would love it.
I'm excited at the thought of them doing it though

were most entries from previous eurovision were well known stars/performer ? do you think them being popular already would be an advanatage or disadvantage. i think just being in germany & in semi final could open doors for them

They haven't even tried as far as I'm aware. Louis seems more concerned with the US and Japan.

i read some comments on ESC website and boys are being slagged to death. Maybe some of us can post some nice comments about them . This thing is like another xfactor battle but this time its a wider audience for love & hate. idk know if i can stomach it but if the boys push thru i'm still going to support them

^^that's why i don't want them to do it. i get so annoyed and angry by all the hate. like at least normally i can stay away from most of it but when they do this it's gonna be everywhere and i don't want them to be slagged...they've won over so many people over the last year and they have so many(i almost put much lol) fans now that it's gonna be like almost back at square one and they don't need that, i don't want them to have to go through that again...

Irish Eurovision fans? They're the only people allowed to do this type of thing because the boys could potentially represent them. No one else can say anything - none of their business really. According to Louis on RTE today, they are definitely going to enter the Irish Eurosong contest to represent Ireland

i hope they will really have this very pop smash hit song. however some people do judge them based on xfactor and not giving John & Edward the chance . This they cant sing they cant dance and as a joke is truly annoying now and it will take so many years before it separated from them

The boys can handle all that stuff though, and I'm sure would rather gain some new european fans than not risk it - and we all know some people are gonna get them and enjoy them even if some hatred follows them. The people they've won over will stay won over! We just need to check that the Ukraine aren't entering their wacky twins, but thanks to the Borisenko Jedward cover some people in the Ukraine have heard of Jedward now and possibly other countries in the region. Most reality TV eurovisions entry's mistake is they do it as a last desperate act before obscurity beckons. We need to trawl round ESC message boards talking them up and getting them noticed. Every hater bitching is just an opportunity to state your own point of view! I can't believe how against this idea I was and now I've done a 180 on it! Jeds for Eurovision 2011 It's a marketing opportunity, they will, finally get an original bloody song, and heck they could even win it! I'd go and see Lordi if they played here, but I suspect they're more wheelchair inaccessible than Jedward gigs. And if they do it, I wanna go! I've always wanted to go to Eurovision song contest.

So blooming excited. Tickets sell fast though and even though it sounds promising the boys are going for it they might not win the opp to represent Ireland. By the time we find out, they'll be gone. I defo wanna go though. I'm a HUGE Eurovision fan and a trip to Germany sounds ace. OMG i'm gonna pee myself i'm so excited.
EDIT: Well, I managed to get the time off work for this. I WILL go if they do. That's FACT!!!
