Hi everyone One of the other threads got me thinking about this. When you watch the very first videos of the boys, such as the Xfactor auditions, the X factor appearances and especially those videos of them judging the blastbeat competition, the boys are so different to how the appear to be now. The main thing is their accents and voices. They spoke in full Dublin accents and in kind of a low tone. Especially Edward, who actually came across as intelligient and mature. John seemed a lot less confident and kind of the "younger twin" if you know what I mean. Edward seemed to be doing most of the support work. Now their accents AND voices have changed. The Irish twinge has faded and they speak in much higher voices. And John has become the more dominant, mature twin. I personally prefer their Irish accents and low voices and even their not-so-high haircuts. I thought they came across really well in the X factor. What do you guys think?

hmmm yeah I think that because from the start of the X Factor onwards Edward and John were suddenly in the public eye a whole lot, getting filmed all the time etc I think they've just naturally developed personalities for these times. I'm not saying they're acting or being fake its just they might now bring out a persona of them? I think they still sound very irish to me but yeah they're voices are quite often higher....but not always. I feel that they've just gradually developed and it is now easier to see this when you compare them from 2009 to now. 17 to 19...its a jump x

i think before and during xfactor - they speak more concised and slow. now they speak faster than a bullet lolz maybe they are still too excited . nowadays, if i watch their video, i have to watched it twice or thrice to take it all in what they are saying :/

theres some words they say they sound really irish and others which sound really American i think lol- i think it depends where they are in a way? Like if you go to a place where everyones accent is different you start to pick that accent up yourselves

Their Irish accents always come through when they are excited/insistent about something 'Trow it in, trow it in!'

Yes I've noticed when they're on their own, they still have their accents e.g. "stop trowing seaweed" Also, when they're on Irish Tv, its there too "if they don't have the nappy thing, it comes true!"
But its more than that. Listen to the xfactor audition and bootcamp. Very strong Irish accents and much deeper voices. The way they say thankyou, the way they emphasis their "r"'s...just everything really. But now its very different. I prefer their voices the natural way, so to speak.
