What follows is extremely cynical. But depending on how long all their other careers actually last, they might end up with plenty of time on their hands for modelling. The album sold reasonably well, but I really don't think they can rely on novelty and good looks to sell another covers record. As for TV, I'm not sure they have the temperament for presenting. They could be actors I guess - to be fair, we can't really know yet - but they're either going to get cast separately or not at all. I feel depressed now. But the truth is, I've long suspected their management are interested in making the fastest money possible out of Jedward, and if that's the case, they might be wise to think about modelling as an alternative. The fashion industry is very ageist though. 23 is considered old in the modelling world - especially on models beginning their career

Still, I agree. All the industries they're involved in so far have pretty short sell-by dates unfortunately.

yep most of the careers they are trying out have a young retirement age which is why they are working their assess off right now, really sucky timing about Edward's leg obviously there is never a good time to bust your leg, even in private. presenting "normal" shows will be a problem cos neither of them are any good at reading auto cue fast enough, but what's the point of that anyway? if you're gonna script the whole thing anyone could just stand there and read it. Where they go in the future will depend on what kind of "adults" they end up being. I much prefer concerts to pretty pictures though, maybe I'm weird.

Age is usually only a real issue with models if you're just starting out. They prefer them to start young so they can get the experience under their belt and still be pro's at a young age, and the age thing is usually more aimed at female models. But the likes of Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio still work and they're both about to turn 30.
As long as they book shows and work whilst they're young, there's nothing to stop their career ending as musicians and them working as models right through until their 50's.
I think their management want to take them down the TV route though, and will try and phase out the music more, at least in the UK. Louis has always said he sees them succeeding in TV and modelling...and clearly endorsements. As vile as the woman is, I can see them being made into a Katie Price like figure, where they themselves become the brand, and they do all number of things within it

You've got to be an exceptional model to stay in demand for more than the average 2/3 years because there are hundreds of new faces coming through every year. As Kola said though, it's not quite as ageist for the guys - although they also don't earn as much money, so it probably evens out! 18/19 is a pretty normal age for a male model to be just starting out. It's just such an unpredictable and short-lived career though. Even more than a pop career. There's no way to tell who will end up having a successful career. It's so much luck and timing. If they were going to do something on tv, it's hard for me to see past an SMTV type thing. They can freestyle a little, the personalities would be such a big part of the show's sucess-but there are talented writers and producers putting it together and it has a structure and a series of set-pieces. Because much as I laugh my head off at them at times, neither of them have anything like the kind of natural wit to put something of this nature together and perform it on their own steam. They would need a lot of help.

Brand celebrities are awful. Endorsements are bad enough, but if the rest of the twins' career is phased out to make way for just selling stuff all the time, I won't in good conscience be able to say I'm a Jedward fan. I'm still somewhat hopeful that they could turn out to be good actors - but again, like with most careers outside the specific Jedward brand, that would end up with them working separately. Maybe in the future we'll see that happening, but not while Brand Jedward is still around.

What did people think of the pictures they tweeted today? They're old but some of the pictures were new in the fact we hadn't seen them before.
The Edward one for example. People said they looked too skinny but I didn't think so. I thought they looked great personally. Never realised how long Edward's arms are though.

I think they've done a lot more modelling since then and they have learned a lot. It was an odd photoshoot, the wall etc looked like they'd gone and run round the back of the car park to find somewhere private imo At the time the 'wall' pics were popular and Jedward Genius put one up as its header ... we hadn't seen them with hair down and in casual t-shirts for a while (other than on twitpics) ... I think these look like a practice run rather than a real fashion photoshoot .... tbh I prefer their pics of themselves which they twitpic ...

I think they did it in their own time tbh. Looks that way because we haven't been told anything about photographer etc.
They did it themselves.

Are they serious with the Burberry campaign? It's hard to tell these days. I remember it was rumoured a while back.
