I found another link too.... www.digitalspy.co.uk/xfactor/news/a206643/x-factor-to-hold-irish-auditions.htmlThe XFactor this year are going to open auditions in May in Ireland. Ireland have been ignored in the past but obviously the success of John and Edward mean that the series last year was a huge hit in Ireland and was one of the most watched series of the show over there. They'll be holding the auditions at Croke Park. I think the show will get loads of Jedward wannabes this year wether they audition in Ireland or not but this is good news for those in Ireland serious enough to make it big.

is it true ROI couldn't vote last year?? If so I think they realised they lost a lottt of money there and are gonna re-introduce that with the hope of having someone Irish in the final 12!! They always waffle on about how certain places "vote for their own"

Yes we couldn't vote last year. They would have made of fortune from all the Jedward calls if we were able too, so they are probably hoping they an Irish act into the final this time around.
The problem is that every weirdo and Jedward wannabe in Ireland now is going to be turning up at these auditions. At least it should make for some interesting tv during the auditions stage.

Thats a good point but I think there'll be quite a lot of Jedward wannabes this year either way!

i THINK THIS WILL BE A MASSIVE FAIL FOR SOME REASON! We all know why! I wonder how far the twins would have got if we had the vote last year!

Louis will want to put EVERYONE through. If Simon gets his way, I can see this being the first/last time it comes to Dublin

i THINK THIS WILL BE A MASSIVE FAIL FOR SOME REASON! We all know why! I wonder how far the twins would have got if we had the vote last year! they'd have won it and released some god awful winners single in the form of The Climb or otherwise!! I'm glad they didn't win but it would have been nice if they'd have made the final just for the extra performances and obviously the duet! Wonder who they'd have gotten to sing with the twins - that'd have been interesting!!

Haha well Simon has quit American Idol to do a series of X Favtor there apparently? It'd be hilarious if they took UK XF to audition in the states!

If Irish people had been able to vote last year, Jedward would have gotten a hell of a lot further, but even though I missed seeing them on the TV on Saturdays and Sundays, I could see them all week when they were out because of the radio, TV, magazines etc. interviews and stuff. So, it did work out pretty well for them, so I didn't mind them not winning. But if at least one person from Ireland got through to the final 12 again, and we were able to vote, I'd say they'd have a good chance of getting far. If they are any good, that is.
