www.3am.co.uk/jedward-to-team-up-with-vanilla-ice-for-their-debut-single/20676/ - it's starting already..... I don't think Vanilla Ice will help them at all with the US market, he's a nobody over there these days. I'm worried there'll be no Under Pressure as well - I know Queen had a massive to do with Vanilla Ice when he just sampled the bass line. If he stays behind the scenes it could be okay, but if it becomes a duet then I just can't see it working in the boys favour.

Did Queen object to what the boys did on the X F with the mash up?

No, but its a bit different matter when it comes to releasing it and actually making money off of it.

John & Edward's manager Louis Walsh has announced that the pair are to team up with Vanilla Ice. According to The Sun, the Irish brothers will join the rapper to record a new version of his song 'Ice Ice Baby', which is expected to be the boys' debut single. Walsh told the newspaper: "They are beyond excited about working with Vanilla Ice - I've never seen them so excited." John & Edward paid tribute to Vanilla Ice on The X Factor last year, mashing 'Ice Ice Baby' with 'Under Pressure' in Queen Week. A source said: "Ice couldn't wait to work with the boys after seeing their performance. He thought it was genius and now sees the chance to bring his record to a much younger audience." Walsh signed a management deal with John & Edward last month and later promised that their fans could expect "Jedward mania" in 2010. www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a196056/jedward-to-team-up-with-vanilla-ice.htmlnever seen the twins so excited? with how hyper they are normally it scares me a little....

i dont think queen are going to mind them using the track seeing as they get shit loads in royalties..
also it doesnt matter if vanilla ice is a no-body in us these days the fact is he is WELL known the US and there is going to be interest in him releasing a single whereas the boys are not known in US at all and would not be covered by the amount of press they are going to be with vanilla ice on the record too

Brian May loves John and Edward he said so on the show and in interviews during the show. Queen would be more than happy with them covering their song. I think it would still be an Under Pressure Mash-Up. Maybe Vanilla Ice will join in the rap at one point then piss off and leave Jed to it for the rest.

Perhaps it will get them more publicity and be a good move - but I wanted their first single to be just them. They don't need him to do the rap - couldn't they collaborate on a new song?

Perhaps they can just redo the backing track and have Vanilla Ice do that bit. That would be ok. He can have the emphasis words, maybe have his own "ice ice baby" line and then leave them to it.

And the video to go with it! How great will it be to see the boys where Edward doesn't have a distracting piece of paper stuck to his foot! I'm as excited at the thought of the video coming out as the single. I'm requesting in advance someone to upload whatever it is somewhere me, myself and I WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH IT!!! You all know the problems I have watching sony stuff on youtube because I'm in Germany, so I'm relying on you all to see me right.
