I don't really think they look vulnerable at all I think they look very very posed tbh don't know whose idea it was theirs or Louis but they most certainly weren't caught by paps on the way in as paps wouldn't be allowed on hospital premises all the photos were taken by them or someone in their family is my guess. They gained a large amount of support and twitter followers after Edward's accident and I guess they recognised that and are capitalising on it. I have no problem with the photos at all they wont have made any money but money doesn't drive them fame does.

I hate the thought of them resulting to this kind of stuff to keep publicity. This is something Spencer Pratt would do if you know what I mean.
John & Edward are better than this to be honest. I hate the pictures and don't know why they felt they had to take them. I know I don't want to see Edward in hospital looking down. Hospitals are so depressing and I don't want to see either boy in one. Upsets me

Just one picture would have been okay I guess but I really felt uncomfortable with the level of exposure. There is such a thing as being too much in the public eye.

If it makes you feel better these photos arent actually in the hardcopy of NOTW its only a miniscule item on dan wottons celeb page, two photos both tiny the whole item measures about 3cm x 3cm

Since Wotton seems to be quite good mates with their PR I'm thinking she probably contacted him and asked him to put them up on the online edition as a favour. It's possible that he asked for them too after seeing those posted on their twitter page. They won't have sold them though. Those pics have no sale value. I think their original intention was just to document it to share with the fans and that's what they've done.

I didn't even mean the NOTW exposure, more the fact that John posted so many pictures from the hospital in the first place. I'm worried that for non-fans it's going to come across in a horrible way, and I think even some fans think taking pictures of Edward in hospital was unnecessary. I know John was probs just bored and had nothing better to do than post some Twitpics but 83,000 is a lot of people watching you lie in a hospital bed and I don't want public opinion to turn against them.

tbh i dont see anything wrong on that hospital pics - john and edward have shared mostly everything to their fans and Dan wooton has been following them. if NOTW get the exclusivity , John would not twitpic it prior to NOTW - so defo they did not sell those pics. thats a very low way of publicity.
i just dont like the thoughts of them being money grabber cuz they are clearly not . ok i think this was the 3rd time I post on this matter (in giving up) LOLZ

Since when have the paps given a toss about whether they are allowed anywhere or not? They will do anything to get the big money shot. And photos of no value? Jedward are top dollar verywhere they go at the moment, 2 of the most photographed people about. Papers've paid fans before now £200 for 1 pic of the boys at events and going in and out of places that the paps weren't at. A lot of fans will have photos and have no idea what their value may have been... most of us tell the paps where to go and they don't waste their time asking us anymore. They're not my fave people but they have a symbiotic relationship with celebrities, they love and hate and need each other.
I was away all weekend in Finland and came back to the hospital pics and I too hated them, I don't want to see him like that. I know it was their choice to share those pics for whatever reason, but I personally felt it was summat that should have been more private, with maybe one quick pic afterwards going, yay it all went well thanks for all the love guys. But it's up to them aint it? Maybe if I was in hospital I'd been tweeting like mad to relieve the boredom/ deal with the stress/ wanting to let fans know it was cool/ getting publicity.

Prior publication and the fact that the story does not have a high news value (that the operation was minor/was completed successfully was already out and in the public domain/the pic were only used in the online edition where advertising rates are up to ten times less, and in some cases twenty times less, than in the print editon = pictures with little or no sale value. If a paper payed big money for those pics it could actually cost them money to publish them. As for fans getting 200J for pics - the industry standard rate as set out by the NUJ is about 150J per pic so that would be about right. Papers must pay a nominal fee to reproduce twitpics since their copyright is held by the poster but talking thousands of quid is pie in the sky.
