Let's face it, the average person in the UK (whoever that is!) probably 1. Isn't aware the twins are representing Ireland at Eurovision 2. hasn't heard the song 3. Doesn't know it's available to download Exactly this. Im not referring to average person Do you think that John and Edward has no solid fanbase of atleast 10,000 in UK? Out of 160k followers? if ever they have a 10k followers who solidly followed them in twitter and each fan download atleast 5-10x including gifting - they can enter the chart. im resigning to the fact that John and Edward has no massive fanbase in UK - those who come to see them in concert regularly and hang around in mayfair and some other few scattered in various places , thats all. its not even about zero promotion - even i wanted to gift people and only 3 responded to me . i even created 3 email accounts so i can multiple download for myself . im having this feeling of a letdown - here they are with a brand new original song - a eurosong entry which fans wanted for a long time but for some unknown reason in UK there are no massive fans at all. Im not being negative but a feeling inside of me feels like john and edward will be let down again in UK i truly hope that come nearer Eurovision time, it will pick up as everyone believe to be happening.

Most UK fans are just cravers who think they stand a chance. That John and/or Edward will meet them and fall in love with them.
I can name several fans that see them a lot that never even bought Under Pressure or at least just bought it only once

Honestly? No. I don't think they have a solid fanbase of 10,000 in the UK. 160k twitter followers? Yes. How many are: duplicate accounts, groups of people, random people following for the amusing tweets, people just curious....It doesn't mean that 160,000 separate people are Jedward fans. And I'm sorry if the twins see this but it's my opinion which may well be wrong. I'd love for it to be wrong. As Jade says, a lot of fans aren't even interested in chart success for whatever reason. They just have their own agenda. I think if the single had started to make an impact in the UK then more fans would jump on the bandwagon and buy it. But even I'm thinking, if there's going to be a physical CD and promotion, is it worth going to an effort at this stage? When it's obvious that honestly, this week, it's not going to achieve anything.

It hurts cause these makes a false believe - I wish they'll just go away i rather have john and edward slowly gain fans but solid one rather than cravers

Anyways, atleast some of us try harder and I really wish John and Edward a continuous success despite of this reality. I just hope they did not release the single last friday - they could have waited for the video to come out and let fans request for a radio airplay (in ireland cuz UK is pathetic) and release the song.

Some people will pay £100's to go to several shows but won't pay 69p for a single download. That is because the boys don't know otherwise. E.g. I could say I bought Lipstick 10 times but who knows if i'm telling the truth? They can see that i'm supporting them show wise though coz they would see me and I would see them. Some people want the benefits of being a fan like a M&G or a shout out from stage. You don't get any benefits from buying their single. Some people travel to Ireland to crave without getting tickets. Why do that? I've even seen people on twitter talk about going to Germany but they won't pay £75 for a Semi Final ticket and it makes me wonder "why even bother going?". They want to go because they know hardly any fans will be there. No kids can go there anyways and they'll get "quality time" with the twins. Fact is, they won't because the twins are not our friends. There are people out there they'd much rather spend their time with and they'll be exceptionally busy.
Long story short -- some people do this for selfish reasons and are stupid.

All true jade since I dont go to their show often not because I dont want to because I cant so I can honestly say i contribute in my own way . Its worrying because if they dont get this hit or no. 1 - how can they be seen as a successful recording star. but there is not much we can do in any case thats the hardest part but need to accept . its crazy that i have not meet them yet but i have this strong feeling for them, really want them to be successful in their music career

If they don't sell records they will be dropped - If they're dropped then there'll be no concerts and nothing to promote and they'll have to move back to Dublin and stay there. No one will even care by that point.
This is why fans should be supporting them properly. Not just because they fancy them. I suppose that's why the pop industry is so fickle. Someone better looking and more accessible will come along. Sad but true.

There are actually people who are thinking about going to Germany without attending ESC? What the hell? Seriously? Or do they just talk the talk? I can't process that, like come on. Seriously?

But how many of those are duplicate accounts, have many are team accounts, how many are joke body parts accounts, how many are just people who love their randomness, etc. As evident by the album sales in the UK, the fanbase there is BELOW 10,000 I think.

hate to have to agree with u on this one jade but your right again only problem is the message isn't getting through to the right people ie the young teenage fans (and some older ones 2 ) who 4 some deluded reason think they stand a chance of going out with or marrying even one of the twins sorry girls but there like a 99.99 % chance it aint gonna happen 4 u ok. Now if u love john and edward as much as u say u do and want them to be around 4 a few more years stop hanging around outside hotels, venues ect and get downloading cos believe it or not this pop lark dont last forever and there will be some new act coming along real soon for u all to start swooning over sorry if it look like i am having a go at anyone in particular i,m not just felt like a rant few things really pissing me of in fandom atm but i will bite my tongue 4 now

One direction single about to come out. :/ and all the freaking young girls gonna by their single.
so if john and edward dont sell record with original song, huge platform (like eurosong & eurovision ) thats bye bye bye baby on them. (just the thought of this make me choke in tears)
Eurosong were watch according to newspaper nearly a million people. and it didnt turn out as sale . and why radio stations even in ireland refusing to play it . Why cant they just let Johh and Edward be successful without too much obstacles

It's not their fault. It hasn't been promoted so how can we expect chart success here? It's only out atm because of Eurosong anyways. In the UK it's not really an official release.
In Ireland, like with the gigs, it's the bosses trying to get moneys worth at the height of popularity. In this case - the Eurosong craze last friday.
