Interesting day at the races. Got there for teatime and met up with @1001ships @smiley_Jedi jeddi_oap katie_andhearts. We were all poshed up for the premier enclosure including hats... The stage was pretty big, very high, and there were already Olly fans queueing at the front of it. I just don't get it. We got stuck into the racing and first race went very well with me and Sue winning lots to set us up for the rest of the day! There was a competition to enter where you had to guess the winner of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th race. If you go all three right you'd be in with a chance to meet and greet all the Xfactor stars. We all messed up the first one so were in with no chance. Only one person could win, pretty feeble really, as if they couldn't let more in than that, there were 7 people to meet after all. Danyl and Jamie came in and out and were just mobbed and screamed at. I will never ever understand why adult women run and scream and squeal at such Z list celebrities. Saw Darren and Anto who came out and Darren liked our hats. Jane had a totally awesome customised on with Planet Jedward on it! Anto said with all the chaos the twins wouldn't be coming out. Boo. Racing went fine for me, I got winnings on 5 of the 7 races. Then the concert started with Jamie. I dunno who told him the first 2 songs he sang were a good choice but they weren't. Dreadful for his voice, which wasn't at its best. He only got 3 songs, Like a prayer Madonna, Livin on a prayer Bon Jovi and Sex on Fire. He ran through all the artists performing and everyone got cheers... except the twins who got resounding boos, much more than cheers I was dreading it at this stage. It had turned from a lovely day full of sensible people at the races to a bunch of totally drunk chavs booing. There were thousands there, it was a pretty huge crowd by then. I was praying no-one would bottle them. Danyl was next and had a chap on acoustic guitar with him and it just went wrong, the sound was absolutely terrible. How can it go so wrong with one mic and one acoustic guitar?! Danyl battled on bless him, and his voice was ok, but a combination of the sound and song choices again - utter fail. Shame, nice guy. Then the twins. They bounced on in the silver mirror jackets, big quiffs and big shades, and started with We will rock you. Plenty of people started joining in and we were actually in a pocket of people where there were lot of fans. The blokes yelling get off were actually doing it jokingly and we started messing with them telling them they loved the twins really, they were just in denial etc. They started coming round to the idea by Rock DJ and were videoing the boys! One was jumping up and down yelling 'I love Jedward!' by the 4th song. Some of his mates were not totally convinced but at least were having a laugh and not booing anymore. By the time they started All The Small Things loads were jumping up and down and singing along. Sorry about quality of vid cos so many there and I'm short but here's an idea of what it was like. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbv-q-SnjUAUnder pressure went well, as did Ghostbusters, athough they look daft doing it in suits without the guns, and the woohoos were definitely louder than the boos by the end of it, they'd silenced a lot of people who saw their singing had massively improved and they were fun on stage. We went out to wait for them as couldn't bear to see Lucy, although saw a few seconds of Nick Jonas on stage with her via the TVs in the room next to us. The twins waited until after he'd played and then left. The security were heavy handed and totally over the top by then as they'd seen what had happened to the others earlier. But everyone was at the show, there were only about a dozen of us waiting and they had like 6 security helping them to the car! Ed managed to escape temporarily to give me a quick hug though Was a fun day out, lovely company, won some money and the twins were great!

thanks for the write up Lynn. Always horrible to hear their name gets boos. but thrilled they'd turned it around with in about two and a bit songs. Yeah. Nick does seem a bit of a dull one. But if the twins were happy to meet him, I'm happy for them. Jane's hat is brill!

John & Edward were so on form, unlike some of my race horse picks lol, they definately turned some haters around with their fun filled, energetic performance; not being biased, but their voices were the strongest sounding of the night. The crowd by me were not "fans," I was the only ones cheering when they were announced, but by the end of the second song they were being seduced by the power of the Jedward, and I was getting thumbs up and smiles, and they were singing along too. Definately more cheers than boos by their end of their set. When Sue & I were having breakfast in our B&B this morning, two of the guests had been to the show, (one reluctantly, he'd rather have been at home watching England lol) his wife said she had not liked them before, but had been impressed by their live performance. Yay! another convert!. £4.50 up on my winnings - can't be bad !! Where was the sunshine they forecast? Flippen heck it was cold. Next time thermals under the posh frocks. haha Lovely to meet you at long last Lynn, and great to catch up with Jane, Katie and Sue again. Thanks everyone for your company, it was a fun day out.

It's quite interesting cos there were obvs pockets of fans, who cos they've videod it, makes it look on all the vids that it was all cheers... when it wasn't to start with lol. This is nice cos you get the boys shouting from backstage cos they already had their mics on before they came on, and you can here the jedward fans chanting before they come on too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2g7z-MdDtkCouple more vids of them here too, and rest of the evening inc that Jonas bloke on stage with Lucie. Love the bloke at 30 secs going "Who is he?"! Fireflies tho, taking the piss or what? www.youtube.com/user/yhfilmproductions

Thanks or the reports everyone. I really think ATST is an inspired choice for a summer single. They are rocking the crowds with it everywhere they go. I mean, for those guys yesterday who went out to the races with their mates and expected to be entertained, only to have to listen to endless mawkish ballads by Lucie etc..then J&E must have been a godsend! And seriously, what is the deal with covering Fireflies? I would've thought that bad Cheryl cover would've scared off anyone else from attempting it, and yet the horror continues. Why on earth would you sing that at an outdoor summer gig?

They got him at a bad time too since he had to go and perform ^.^ & Lucie's in Les Mis after him After suffering some of his webchat the other night I really must say we're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one! I'm sure he's a nice enough bloke, but you know what, I really don't wanna go down the pub with him.
