Street Team FAQs
What are street teams and e-teams?
Street teams spread the word about John & Edward. This might be by handing out flyers, putting up posters or getting the twins played on the radio where they live. The goal is to get new fans, get them to buy the CDs, & get them to come to Jedward gigs! There will be specific tasks, competitions and challenges to help you promote Jedward.
The idea of an e-team is pretty much the same as a street team except e-teamers spread the word online rather than on the streets. This means that fans can now do most of the work from their computers, setting up websites, posting links to Jedward’s website, promoting the band on message boards etc. If you're shy about going out meeting people face to face, or have no-one locally to go with, e-teams are a good way for you to start getting involved!
What do I get?
Other than participating in the excitement of promoting John and Edward and making some new friends we do not expect you to help for free, so there will be special goodies for street teamers.
You will get some freebie promo materials to keep for yourselves as well as hand out and be given the opportunity to enter exclusive contests.
How do I join?
1. Read all the information here to find out what the Street Team and e-team does.
2. Let us know you're in!
We will post tasks and updates here, on the official forum, on twitter (@streetjedward) and on facebook (Jedward mania) but we will also send tasks and info out by twitter too.
What shall I do once I’ve joined?
What are some ways to help promote the boys where I live?
1. Distribute flyers & posters before or after local Jedward gigs or gigs of artists that may hav a similar audience. 2. Distribute flyers & posters to various locations - for upcoming gigs, record releases etc in:. a. Pubs / Nightclubs b. Coffeehouses c. Local Universities/colleges/schools d. Internet cafes e. Bulletin boards/kiosks f. Music stores g. Places you would hang out, or expect to find potential Jedward fans.
3. Call local radio stations and request Jedward. If they say they don’t have any CDs, let UMIreland know!
4. Checking out the local music store for Jedward stock/promotional material, etc. a. Keep track of the stores you visit and how many copies of the record they have out. b. Do they have Jedward posters up in the store? c. Is the new record in any of the listening stations when a new CD is released? d. Ask the staff to play the latest Jewdard record. e. Let the Street Team know the results of each visit.
5. Look out for publications/writers who might be interested in stories on the band, radio shows/television shows, webzines, etc., and report back with as much info as you can gather.
6. Online promotion - a. Talk about the band on your message boards. Start threads in other music sections. Add a link to the Jedward websites in your email signature b. Talk about the band on related artists websites. c. If you have a website, please include a link to the official band website. d. Search out websites that might be interested in information on the band(magazines, webzines etc) and report back to Street Team.
Do I have to be a certain age to join?
No. We can’t stop you doing stuff for the band if you want to.
But if you are a minor in your country please please make sure you tell your guardians what you are up to, especially if you go out anywhere doing some street team stuff. Follow the usual sensible rules and always tell them where you’re going and when you’ll be back, carry a mobile phone when you can and stay safe! Never meet up with someone from the internet who says they’re a fellow street teamer until you’re sure they who they say they are. Always take someone else with you the first time you meet them.
Where do I get promo materials?
The official forum, here and the street team twitter and facebook will have downloadable flyers, handbills, etc. If other materials such as badges, stickers, posters etc become available, they will be distributed to the street team coordinators, who will distribute to local team members.
Can I make my own promotional material?
Of course! We always need people to design banners and flyers etc. But please check them with the co-ordinators first to get them approved. UMireland have kindly given us permission to use some logos and photos already.
We also need people to hep us make loads of stuff!
If you feel you could lead a team in your contry or area, can motivate others and love organising things to promote the boys, let us know!
STREET TEAM MEMBER CONDUCT
Always act politely and professionally. You are representing the boys when you are out there flyering, or posting on the web, or emailing. Be polite, don’t annoy or spam people, and if someone tells you not to put flyers up, thank them very much for their time and don’t do it. We’re here to make friends for the twins, not enemies.
Don’t break the law!Check what you can and cannot do in your country. Find out where you can post flyers legally. If you’re too young to enter an establishment, don’t try and sneak in!
No fighting with other street teamers. We won’t tolerate any bad behaviour or in-fighting in the street teams. We have a no tolerance policy! The image of the boys is very important. So if you are doing this for your own ego, forget it now. We want teams of people who genuinely want to help the twins.
Check out ideas you have before going off and doing them. Got a brilliant idea? Someone else may already be working on that idea, like the press agent or record company for your country. We don’t want to waste time duplicating things, or tread on any toes.
It doesn't matter how much or how little you can do to help, every bit counts!
Welcome on board and remember… Enthusiasm is contagious!!!

I was in Belfast today. Little bored while looking around Schuh until Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby) started to play! I went a little hyper and started doing the dance and rapping/singing along while in the store (My sis and cousin got embarrassed and left me lol)
That was the first store I've heard J&E being played in. And I know it's not ATST but still good promotion for them.

The people teaming in Ipswich at the weekend got Jed fridge magnets and post it notes to use. When Jed Genius were doing the UP promotion they got loads of big posters and some of the teamers got one of those to keep too. Different stuff will pop up at different times.

I don't know anyone locally to go out with, and to be honest I would never have the confidence to go up to people anyway, but I just wanted to say I think what you are doing is brilliant. Keep up the good work, and if there is anything I can do to help via my computer, I'm here.

In which countries do you already have streetteams?
Now that the guys are becoming more and more famous in GERMANY a german Streetteam to promote them would be pretty cool, wouldn't it?
So if they isn't anything like this yet I would like to make a Homepage for this and manage it, 'cause I'm german and i already know plenty of jedward-fans here. Until now we only promoted them with our german Fanclub (We already met Jedward, John made kind of a shoutout for the FC ( -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFSEpbNaAGA&feature=channel_video_title :'D)
A friend of mine is the Fanclubleader, and (even if the homepage is still under construction 'cause it's a quite new fanclub etc.) we could work together so that the german fanclub and the german "streetteam" could make the ultimate promotion
We've got many people who would like to help, so we'd pretty like to build a ST in germany. But: If we do this, where do we get the promotion stuff from? (surely we could organize things alone but a little help at the beginning would maybe be nice.. )
..Oh and sorry for mistakes, i've had a hard day and i'm to tired for a complete right english right now, lol..
Love from Germany
